The Music Man concerns con man Harold Hill, who poses as a boys' band organizer and leader and sells band instruments and uniforms to naive townsfolk before skipping town with the cash. In River City, Iowa, prim Marian the librarian sees through him, but when Hill helps her younger brother, Marian begins to fall in love with Harold. Harold, in turn falling for Marian, risks being caught to win her. In 1957, the show became a hit on Broadway winning five Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and running for 1,375 performances. The cast album won the first Grammy Award for "Best Original Cast Album". The show's success lead to revivals and a popular 1962 film adaptation and a 2003 television remake. Tickets range from $15 to $25.

Turandot, performed by Teatro Lirico D'Europa, is based on the Greek myth "the riddle of the sphinx". With dramatic sets, beautifully ornate costumes and outstanding voices, the opera set in legendary times, tells the tale of Princess Turandot and revolves around three riddles. One of opera lovers favorite arias, "Nussun Dorma" is in this final masterpiece of Puccini. Tickets are $37, $46, and $50.

The Kids Parade on the 25th will be down Beck Avenue from 15th Street to 11th Street, with kids throwing to other kids along the route (beads, stuffed animals, toys and more). Adults are asked to stand back and let the younger ones have their chance at some Mardi Gras style fun. On the 26th is the Annual Grande Parade. There will be over 14 Krewes with more than 20 brightly colored floats. There will be beads, doubloons, and other unique treasures to catch. This is the Grand Finale parade for Bay County's Mardi Gras season. There will also be a two-day festival in the Oaks by the Bay Park, with food/drink vendors, kids rides, live music and great bands performing both days and nights.
